Inside Look: What Exactly Does a Deep Clean Include?

Hi there! I’m Mykola, and if you’ve been following my blog, you know I’m all about getting things sparkling clean. Over the years, I’ve seen it all—from kitchens that haven’t seen a scrub brush in a decade to carpets that… well, let’s just say they needed some serious love. One question I get all the time from homeowners here in Oakland County is: “Mykola, what’s the actual difference between a quick wipe-down and a real professional deep clean?”.

It’s a great question. (While I often explain this in person during our professional deep cleaning services, I realized I’ve never actually written it down for you all here.) It’s a great question, and the answer might surprise you.

Why a “Regular Clean” Isn’t Enough

Look, I know you’re busy. You do the dishes, you vacuum the middle of the room, and you’re done. But dust and grease are sneaky. They hide in places you don’t even think to look.

A deep cleaning is what we do to hit the “reset button” on your home. It’s about removing the buildup that regular cleaning leaves behind.

The GoShineUp Deep Cleaning Checklist: My Personal Method

When I’m out on a job, this is the standard I hold my team to. Here’s what a whole house deep cleaning schedule looks like:

1. The Kitchen (Degreasing Mode)

This is where the real work happens.

  • Degreasing the Backsplash & Hood: Cooking oils build up a sticky film that attracts dust. We strip it off.
  • Outside of Appliances: We polish the stainless steel and clean the grime from the gaskets.
  • Cabinet Fronts: I make sure we wipe away those greasy fingerprints around the handles.
  • Sink Restoration: Scrubbing away those tough Michigan hard water stains.

2. The Bathrooms (Deep Scrub)

I use the same real-life method I’ve shared before for those tough toilet stains.

  • Grout Scrubbing: Getting the dirt out of the lines so your floors actually look new again.
  • Glass & Chrome: Removing every bit of soap scum from shower doors.
  • The “Hidden” Areas: Cleaning behind the toilet and under the sink cabinet.

3. Living Areas & Bedrooms (The Detail Work)

  • Hand-Wiped Baseboards: No shortcuts here. We get down and wipe them by hand.
  • Vents & Ceiling Fans: Clearing out the dust that’s been circulating through your AC.
  • Window Sills & Tracks: Removing the buildup of dirt and pollen.
  • Door Frames & Light Switches: Wiping away the dark smudge marks where everyone touches.

I know, it’s a lot to remember! To make it easier for you, I’ve put all these points into a handy PDF. You can print it out and check the boxes as you go. [Download My Professional Deep Cleaning Checklist (PDF)]

Why You Need This (From a Pro’s Perspective)

In Waterford and Oakland County, we deal with a lot of seasonal changes. That means more pollen in the spring and more salt and dirt in the winter.

Health: A deep clean removes allergens that a standard vacuum just can’t reach.

Protection: Regular deep cleans stop grease and dust from permanently damaging your floors and cabinets.

Peace of Mind: Nothing feels better than walking into a house that smells truly fresh.

Ready for that sparkling clean feeling?

Don’t spend your weekend fighting with a scrub brush. Whether you’re moving in, moving out, or just need a fresh start, I’ve got you covered.
